An up bow is a down bow in the other direction

Do your up-and-down bows sound different? Do you want them to? Do you accent up bows by pushing the bow from the back of your right arm? Hint: the less you change your hand and elbow position, the more up and down bows will sound the same, and the smoother the bow changes will be. And that's a good thing most of the time.
